Hola me llamo Jessica …

January 17, 2012

Soy de Los Angeles.

And for those of you who’ve never taken a day of Spanish in your life (and when I say 1 day I really mean it because I’m pretty sure that’s the first thing you learn in Español 1):

Hi my name is Jessica. I am from Los Angeles.

Kind of a vital phrase. Thank God I was paying attention that first day. It’s probably been one of my most used sentences since being here — except for maybe hace frío. But more on that later.

Yeah. This is where I live. No big deal. (Photo Credit)

A little bit about me & this blog

I’m a student who is studying abroad in Salamanca, Spain for 6 months. I’ve been fascinated with Spanish ever since I learned what it was (and since my grandparents both speak it I’ve known of its existence for quite some time). After 7 years of studying Spanish in school, I finally have the opportunity — Thanks Mom & Dad!! — to study it here, in Spain, the birthplace of both the language and some distant relative of mine.

This post is kind of strange because it’s the first one, but it’s point is to welcome you to my blog.

And so I give you ¿Qué tal Salamanca?

¡Bienvenidos, a todos!

Good post. I learn something totally new and challenging
on blogs I stumbleupon on a daily basis. It’s always helpful to read through content from other authors and use a little something from their websites.
